Welcome to Purna

The Purna Shrestha Memorial Home for Children in Pokhara, Nepal

came into being in June 2009 when the children of Purna Shrestha determined that they put in place what they could to help orphaned childern in memory of their dear mother who sadly passed away in 2006.
Purna was herself an orphan and through love, kindness and generosity she lived a long and fruitful life as a wife, a mother and the matriarch of the Shrestha family.

It is with same love, kindness and generosity that the Shrestha family have donated land
on which to build an orphanage and, through a family foundation begin to build the orphanage, brick by brick through a variety of not-for-profit business initiatives and the generous donations of those who know of the proposed orphanage and the passionate commitment of the Shrestha family members in Nepal and Australia.

Whilst we bring this dream into being we are doing what we can to direct donations and support to Pokhara children through Rotary Pokhara.

The link to "Our Nepalese Restaurant in Moruya" below takes you to a page that details the wonderful little restaurant in South East New South Wales that provides the bulk of the support our orphanage will require in its construction and its sustainability. It is a lobour of love
and in time we hope that we will reach our dream.
